THE PISCES GIRL

For those who are interested, Schwabs just so happens to be an Aries. The Ram.

Astrologically speaking, we are supposed to be one of most romantic couplings in the zodiac-a real prince meets princess story. Though, we also couldn’t be more opposite. We literally fall on opposite ends of the zodiac scale. He is the very first sign, and Pisces is the very last. I’ve read up a lot on our pairing and some say its a match made in heaven, while others say we are too different to last.

In the end, I say only WE decide how our love story goes.

I can vouch that being married to an Aries man is not always easy. But he could say the same goes for a Pisces girl. While I cannot deny that we are very different people, the payoff to being married to my Aries man far outweigh our differences. Everyday, he shows me the kind of love fairy tales are made of. He really is my prince charming.

So, here are just a few more reasons why I love my Aries Man.

1. He Has a Wicked Sense of Humor
It’s a little bit sarcastic mixed with quick wit and silliness. I can’t exactly explain it, but it puts me ease almost instantly.

2. He’s a Manly Man
He goes after what he wants with boldness, he’s chivalrous, he protects and provides, he takes out the trash, he watches football and drinks beer with his buddies…He’s a guy’s guy in every sense of the phrase and has no shame in it. It’s the perfect compliment to my girlie-ness. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

3. He Lets Me Be Me
It’s no secret that on any given day, I can be one of a million different things depending on my mood. No matter who I am, what my mood is, or what quirk I show him that day, he always accepts me for the chameleon that I am.

I felt inspired to write this one day when I was feeling sad and anxious about our world’s current state of affairs. I tried to quiet my mind for meditation, but instead this came into my head. I hope it brings you a sense of comfort, as it did for me.

Being human and human alone doesn’t make you great
Without His love, you are nothing
With it, you can be everything

This is your human purpose
To demonstrate the Lord’s love is real, real as can be
Real as you and me

Right now, times are nice
They are as they should
And it’s our time to get, while the gettin’s good

But there will be a day
Not too far off, I fear
When good times will end
And we will need Him near

“It’s never too late”, He says, to join Him
Allow His love to bless you
With all the treasures and happiness your good heart desires

He can provide you with more abundance than you can imagine
He can be your infinite source of strength, when your own expires

Yes
Without His love, we are nothing
But with it, there is a chance to be great after-all

Don’t worry, have faith
He will catch us if we fall

That is our purpose, don’t you see?

He loves you unconditionally, that is what He is all about
But to receive that love, you first have to believe it
Why is that so hard to figure out?

Schwabs and I spent a weekend get-a-way in Fredericksburg, Texas last month and this is what I wore to stroll around town. I found this trench coat during the summertime in the clearance racks at Dots. The price had been slashed down to a ridiculously affordable $5! The girlie details and satiny champagne colored fabric make it look more glamorous than it’s price tag lets on-which makes me feel both stylish AND smart.

Pairing the coat with more masculine features-like a man’s button down shirt and watch (both found in my husband’s Goodwill pile) kept the outfit interesting. Keeping everything streamlined with skinny jeans and classic riding boots ensured that I didn’t get lost in a sea of jacket and over-sized shirt.

Did you recognize my taupe-grey satchel from Forever 21? I told you I loved it-and I wasn’t kidding. This puppy is a powerhouse-I’ve already matched it with so many different outfits!

I was really proud of how this outfit  exerted a bit of creativity and several options for creating different looks.

Before you even THINK it, I know. New Years Resolutions are so trite.

Frankly, I don’t care. I loooove New Years and if Christmas is my favorite holiday, then New Years is my second favorite. What can be more awesome than the turning of a new year?  Together, all of humanity celebrates the forward movement of time. We sync up to remember the past and anticipate the future. What other holiday can do that?

Sadly, it’s also a regular reminder that with or without you, time moves on. And if you haven’t been progressing with it, New Years can be a real bummer. The good news is that the ball drops, fireworks light up the sky and the world gives you a clean slate to start again. You can RESOLVE (*elbow nub* ehhhh, ehhh?!) to start again.
