THE PISCES GIRL

For a while now, my mom has been asking me to write a prayer for our country. With unrest going on all over the world, I understand why she makes this request with such urgency.

In the stillness and quiet of this morning, I reflected on how blessed I am to be born in America: a hodge-podge of different cultures, ideas, opportunities and freedoms. This is not to say I don’t appreciate and awe at the magnificence of the rest of the world, but my loyalties and heart will always reside with my homeland.  With that in mind, I jotted this down and hope that you too will find the time to say a quick prayer for your nation-wherever that may be…

Thank you Lord for giving me the blessing of citizenship in a free and democratic country. Where I am allowed to be anything I want to be, without fear of persecution or oppression.

Lord, you have blessed our nation abundantly with freedom, opportunity and prosperity. In these greedy, selfish and troublesome times, please keep your hands over our land, it’s leaders and citizens so that we may not be led astray and have what is necessary to defend ourselves appropriately against those enemies who wish to defeat us.

Please enter the hearts and minds of our leaders. May they forget personal agendas and make decisions with purity, clarity, and for the good of the people they were chosen to represent.

Please extend the hearts and generosity of our people. May we love more, show more compassion, give you more gratitude and praise and share more graciously of our time, energy and resources knowing that to give is to recieve.

In ALL our ways, may your powerful and loving presence stand as the cornerstone. May we always seek to walk in your light.

Amen.

I felt inspired to write this one day when I was feeling sad and anxious about our world’s current state of affairs. I tried to quiet my mind for meditation, but instead this came into my head. I hope it brings you a sense of comfort, as it did for me.

Being human and human alone doesn’t make you great
Without His love, you are nothing
With it, you can be everything

This is your human purpose
To demonstrate the Lord’s love is real, real as can be
Real as you and me

Right now, times are nice
They are as they should
And it’s our time to get, while the gettin’s good

But there will be a day
Not too far off, I fear
When good times will end
And we will need Him near

“It’s never too late”, He says, to join Him
Allow His love to bless you
With all the treasures and happiness your good heart desires

He can provide you with more abundance than you can imagine
He can be your infinite source of strength, when your own expires

Yes
Without His love, we are nothing
But with it, there is a chance to be great after-all

Don’t worry, have faith
He will catch us if we fall

That is our purpose, don’t you see?
To be great for Him, each one of us, you and me

Because there will be a time when love and hate collide
His people will have to band together

All the blessings He has given us will be needed
To ration and share
Just to storm through the weather

Now is not the time for fear, but awareness
The end of your freedom to decide is rapidly approaching

Before you know it, a line will be drawn
And all the ugliness this world has to offer
At your doorstep will be encroaching

If you can humble yourself enough to put your life
In the hands of someone you can’t physically touch or feel

He rewards your faithfulness with His love
He shows you that he’s real

I know I speak of gloom and doom, but this message was meant to inspire hope

Live your life to the fullest
Use the talents your Lord gave you to gain happiness and abundance
Leave the rest to Him, He will help His people cope

This is not a secret, many before have preached this message for years
It breaks His heart to see it continues to fall upon deaf ears

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!
If could rattle each one of you, I would
But instead, I write this message
Because I told Him I’d do the best I could

He loves you unconditionally, that is what He is all about
But to receive that love, you first have to believe it
Why is that so hard to figure out?
